So today we decided to go and purchase Lisa's new star keychain. As we left, we were heading towards a music store (i think) and detoured into the Bata Shoe Museum. Seeing that admission was free after 5, we decided to go since it was past 5.
We had quite a pleasant time at the museum (well Shanno did). Starting from the basement, we worked up to the top floor. We saw shoes from a variety of countries. The different designs and types of shoes was really interesting too. For instance, Alaska had a number of boots, whereas India had a number of sandals. It was an insightful visit. I still don't understand why tiny feet were so attractive to Chinese people.
Following the shoe museum we visited a number of places: music store, mcdonalds and unique stores. Then, we arrived at the famous young and bloor area, aka posh district (i just gave it this name). Lisa and I had a lot of fun here.
Our most memorable visit, was to Holt Refrew. We went in because Shanno wanted to go in. Here we realized how non-upscale material we were and loved it. We first were in the makeup isles, and left for another department as it was not interesting and smelled strongly. Then, we went into the tote department. Here, we discovered that some purses are extravagantly over priced. As Lisa and I were guessing the prices of bags Lisa accidentally spat on a safari themed tote from some brand that we couldn't pronounce so we left swiftly from that part of the store. We continued browsing until we walked through the entire store. We knew that we didn't fit in because no one tried to sell us anything. LOL it's ok though because we really weren't going to buy anything!
Finally, we ended most of our Bloor street browsing by eating at a Harvey's. =)
Hehe! wow that was long! So ladies, this is what you're missing out! Come join us next time for more of The Adventures of Seto and Shanno.
P.S. Lisa said that this time we didn't get lost because she was directing our trip, however we didn't have any destinations really... so how could we get lost? *smile*
