Seto's Thoughts on Phantom

I really should've said something about the musical right after we saw it but the day we saw Phantom was a particularly frustrating day for me so I decided not to.

Now after 5 hours of tiring pool playing and then 6 hours of great sleep I will let you know how my first experience with the Phantom was.

Overall I thought it was good, but from a critical point of view...

• after hearing Shanno's talks about the original chandelier scene, THIS chandelier was somewhat of a disappointment
• I'm still really mystified as to how they did that stuff with the candles, that was my favourite part
• lots of fire, it was quite a hot performance
  
• the opening scene was really cool, I wonder if they did the same in the first one...
• the singing was good but at times very hard on the ears, especially from the sopranos
  
• I'd have to agree with Shanno's friend Danielle, the lead female was no Sarah Brightman, and I don't think anyone ever will live up to the way she played Christine
• as actors, though, everyone in the cast did a very good job, and compared to the movie version...an excellent job!
• want to read the original novel it's based on now

So anyone who hasn't seen it should really go and see it.
